Legumes

Legumes can be split into two types: combinable legumes (such as combining peas / field beans) and vegetable legumes (such as vining peas, green beans and broad beans).

An increasing number of growers are bringing peas and beans into the rotation. The driving forces are the continued battle against blackgrass, the introduction of the three-crop rule and challenges in the establishment of other break crops.

Whilst beans are seen as a lower input crop, there are still pest, weed and disease challenges. BASF offers a range of solutions to support efficient pea and bean production, including options for weed and disease control.
